House of Gerhard features authentic German dishes

My vote for favorite restaurant goes to the House of Gerhard in Kenosha. The main reason would be their famous prime rib, which is of excellent quality, not to mention all their wonderful authentic German dishes.

How can you beat cloth napkins folded all so perfectly on beautiful white linen tablecloths? The decor is all special, done differently for the holidays or occasions. Angie, the owner, does this all from the heart. This is all instilled from birth, as she is the original owner’s daughter.

Now let’s talk service. None better in my book. A happy, smiling hostess to greet you as your enter. A quiet bar area with great drinks, with many top-shelf liquor and a large assortment of wines. All their servers smile and have an upbeat attitude. Many of them have been there over 15 years and more. When he is not busy making meals, the owner, Dick Ruden, has been known to walk around the tables, checking with the patrons as to how everything is. It must be mentioned also that, in 2009, Dick was awarded the honor of being Restaurateur of the Year for the entire state of Wisconsin. This came from the Wisconsin Restaurant Association. It’s all from his TLC when making the homemade muffins, soups and special appetizers, including the special German dishes, sauerbraten and rouladen, just to mention a few.

What more could anyone ask for on an upscale dining experience? With the quality, one is sure to leave full and happy. I would recommend it to anyone from out of town, out of state, or even visiting from another country.
