The Colony House in Trevor is a great place for seniors to go.

With an atmosphere like an old world New England eatery, it has a distinctive menu with offerings to please even the most discriminating palate.

If you are looking for great food at a great price in close driving distance to Kenosha, the Colony House cannot be beat.

They have a mouth-watering Friday night fish fry that is one of the most popular in southeastern Wisconsin. Their country atmosphere and friendly wait staff add a dimension of home-cooking to the experience.

It’s an atmosphere that makes you feel at home. They have old-fashioned dinnerware and furniture and their waitresses wear old country gowns. There is a huge fireplace that is always roaring away in cold weather.

It’s always a challenge for me to decide between the fall-off-the-bone-tender ribs or one of their outstanding steaks. I usually couple that with a spinach salad and for dessert I get the deliciously tempting bread pudding.

The Colony House is a rare find in Kenosha County. It is close enough to be less than a half hour from your doorstep, yet far enough out to give it that true country feel.

Call ahead for reservations on weekends. The Colony House is very popular. Stop in for a meal and you’ll soon understand why.
